I hate this! I’m throwing out all my dogfood and dog treats. I just read the following: A release from Del Monte reveals that the company will voluntarily be recalling select product codes from the its pet treat products sold under the Jerky Treats, Gravy Train Beef Sticks and Pounce Meaty Morsels brands. Del Monte also supplies select products sold under private label brands. Consumers may contact DelMonte at delmonte.com. I urge you all to throw out your commercial dog foods and treats!! I’ve had it. I’ve started trying out the recipes in the HOMEMADE DOG FOOD RECIPES book. They are amazing. The ingredients are very common, most people will have them in their kitchen. I was able to make a weeks worth of food for Sam and Bud in less than an hour on Sunday. Those two are usually so picky, and they loved it!!! I talked with my vet and she looked at the HOMEMADE DOG FOOD RECIPES book, and told me the recipes were safe for all adult dogs. I’ll keep you all updated on whether the dogs coats appear shinier and fuller and if they have more energy in the next few weeks, which is supposedly a result of feeding them the recipes in the book.

A Tribute To Raja.

Today it was one year ago that my predecessor, Raja, passed over the rainbow bridge after a battle with bone cancer. So I would like to dedicate today to him. From what I hear, he and I have a lot of similarities: love going new places, love eating roast chicken (ok what dog wouldn’t love that?), love hanging out at the studio, barking when it counts and squirrel patrol. We are different in many regards too in that we each have our own personalities, which my humans say is a great thing. After Raja’s passing, my humans started fostering Golden Retrievers for the Golden Retriever Club of LA Rescue. I was their 2nd dog and they couldn’t let me go (see no one can resist the charms of Spencer!) and so they became “foster failures” (those who adopt the dogs they foster). I think it was karma that we ended up together because I was actually supposed to go to another foster home but that fell through at the last minute and I ended up here. It worked out great for all of us and everyone is very happy now. My humans are working on Raja’s story for a documentary. It’s called “Red Dog Diary: A Dogumentary“.
