Engaged in military as well as civilian occupations, guard dogs serve on sentry duty, patrol duty, shore watch, riot control, store and warehouse security and many other similar missions. Whatever the nature of their mission, all guard dogs have one thing in common: their high degree of training.

Every guard dog is trained to maintain a peak performance for the entire time it is on duty. Ordinarily this is for extended periods of time. Such sustained performance requires huge amounts of energy. The guard dog also needs large amounts of energy to cope with the extreme emotional stress that occurs while the dog is on duty. Often, during periods of sustained performance, a guard dog’s energy needs exceed that of a female during lactation.

The day before yesterday I was at a birthday party. Me and my aunt were talking dog stuff and she was telling me the story of Demi the happy Labrador Retriever. Demi, now 4 years old, has suffered from multiple dog allergies since 15 months of age. It all started one summer and she was itching and scratching like crazy. Her skin was damaged and she was showing several bald spots. And on top of that… Demi the happy Labrador, was not so happy anymore. Scratching all the time of course requires a lot of energy, but when your skin keeps itching… how can you sleep?

Dogs are man s best friend, and this is not an understatement. This is because man and dogs find things that they can both enjoy such as playing, wrestling, running, and even hunting.

There are people who bring their dogs along whenever they are out for a hunting activity. They do this because they find their dog s company during hunting a worthwhile inclusion.

Moreover, there are dogs that are also adept in hunting activities especially those that were trained for specific types of hunting activities.
