Today is my birthday! I am 10 years old. The kid is still here but I turned the tables on her and woke her up this morning. I was excited to see what presents I got. The first present was a set of 3 pink tennis balls. I know you think pink is for girls, but I’m very confident in my dogliness and proceeds from these tennis balls go to breast cancer research. I sit with cancer patients through their chemo treatments at the hospital, so I wanted to help out with my pink tennis balls too.

Without a wrestling ring we do have to be sure to keep Corona on a leash at all times but she’s able to get her cousin, Ian, laughing all the same.
While at the Moncton Air Show we had a small showof our own while waiting for more aerial acrobatics to take place. To Ian’s surprise he was the main attraction and Corona was his sidekick - or maybe the other way around.

Dogs are man’s best friend. Always loyal and ever loving, this trait has made canines an integral and common part of what is fast becoming a common mode of therapy in many health care facilities. Not just dogs but animals in general have long been recognized as having a positive effect on the healing process. Dogs, especially, have a calming effect.
These dogs help people cope with emotional issues, offer physical contact, invoke pleasant memories and they divert a person’s focus from the problems of the day. That’s why they’ve been used to great success as helpers for those people who are in therapy. Dogs are specially trained for their jobs of helping to take care of the sick, the elderly or the infirm.

At the end of the day it was difficult to tell if Corona or Brian had the most energy to spare. Although they both released tremendous amounts throughout the day it seemed these two would never be ready for bed.
It all started with a lick (but we’re still not sure who licked who first) and ended with a hug and a memory. I’m positive these two will meet again in the years to come and I hope when they do they’ll be more relaxed but still enjoy each other.

I found this picture of one of our favourite dogs. She still uses this Mammoth Nuvo dog bed after approximately ten years. When this bed came out, it was over $100.00 and large enough to accomodate our big breed. The removable cover and high memory fiber fill was a bonus considering the fabric was so durable. You can find this bed on sale at times for as little as $49.99. If you see it, I highly recommend it. If you don’t believe me, take a look at more comments.

Breed: German Shepherd
Location: Boston, MA
Caption : With baseball post season approaching, MLB fans get pretty serious about their teams. It looks like this kitty didn’t read the warning signs, and even worse he’s wearing a New York Yankees while trying to sneak through the backyard of this German Shepherd who obviously a Boston Red Sox fan. There might be a little more than rivalry at stake here !!

It actually sounds kind of gross, but BARF is an acronym for Biologically Appropriate Raw Food or Bones and Raw Food. Many health conscious veterinarians are huge advocates for this diet which can completely replace commercially prepared dog food. One of the first proponents of the BARF diet was Dr. Ian Billinghurst who still recommends it today. He believes that it is the ultimate way to get our pets in to optimum health. Many people believe that the BARF diet simulates what your dog would eat in his natural environment.

Huddled under my umbrella the other day, I was dodging raindrops and puddles as I walked the three blocks from the parking garage to my office. As I was passing an apartment building, I saw an elderly woman standing near the entrance holding an umbrella over her little white poodle dog. Unfortunately, the umbrella wasn’t large enough to cover both her and the dog, so she was getting soaked. Unable to withhold comment, I said, “Do you think he’ll melt if he gets wet?” She responded, “Well, he’s sweet enough to melt, but the truth is that if I don’t hold the umbrella for him he gets angry and pouts and won’t eat his lunch.” And, by dinner time he’s an absolute bear! Welcome to the world of the pampered pet.

You should not allow your stud dog to be used for breeding until he is about a year old, and even then he should be bred to a mature, proven matron who is already accustomed to breeding. Doing this will make his first experience pleasant and easy. Keep in mind that a young dog can be put off permanently by a female dog who fights and resists his advances. Never let this happen. Always start a stud dog out with a female dog who is mature, has been bred previously, and is of even temperament.
