~HOWL~

A howl can mean many things, from happiness to sad.
He howls when alone and hurt or overall just mad.

You scold him when he acts this way, tells him that he's bad.
But when you look deep in his eyes, you see that he's just glad.

When your around, he can't hold back, filled with so much joy.
You finally realize, he's more than just a toy.

Cradled in your swaying arms, a tear falls to his nose.

We recently received a group of poodle mix boys from the Iredell County Humane Society to take the challenge of rehabilitating them. Paul, Ringo, John, and George were living in a 1010 ft. dog lot with no human contact for the first year and half of their life. They had food, shelter and water but that is about all. One of the poodles was tolerable but the other three came to us and believe me, they taught us a lot about fear of the unknown.

Officer Dan Holderman and K-9 Wulkan of the Butler Township Police Department recently graduated from their police canine handler school at Highland Canine Training, LLC. Within their first week back at work, the team had three successful finds. The news article below from the REPUBLICAN HERALD describes one of the finds. Congratulations to Dan and Wulkan. An investigation Tuesday into a drug-related incident in Pottsville led several local police departments to seize more than $11,000 worth of illegal drugs from a Saint Clair home and arrest a New York man on several drug-related charges.
