Keisha opening her toy Christmas morning
I haven’t written in awhile. Christmas went well. The tree was left standing, and I only had to re-decorate the bottom of it because Keisha runs under it sometimes, and the only ornament that was broken was by me! I don’t think that’s toobad at all! I even decorated the side of the kitchen counter and Keisha didn’t bother it at all! I’ve been very impressed!

There is a great website called Peternity.com that offers really nice ways to honor your pets. Although the site offers a lot of great products to honor a pet that has passed away, they also have some fun things to honor your pet while they are still with you.
I was lucky enough to get a sample of two of their items, the glass engraved cube, and the customized pet blanket. The memorial cube is really pretty, and has an engraving of the dog and then the name of the dog and dates, which was done in a way to make it look 3 dimensional. The photo blanket is really cute, nice and heavy which makes it warm, and very soft. Since you can make it from any photo you want, it would be a perfect gift for any occasion (I think it would be a fun Valentine present for a pet lover).

Any one of the dollar stores out there today offer excellent gifts/ toys for pets for any occasion. This colourful box is one such gift.
Russ often tires of presents that we give him, sometime’s he doesn’t even care to play with them at all but this was an excellent choice for him. Not being a very active cat (he’s about 20lbs) getting Russ to play is a task in itself. When he jumps into or onto this box we almost see the sweat pouring off of him.
Highland Canine Training would like to welcome James Fallon to our training staff. James is now serving clients and dog owners in the Mooresville, Statesville and Lake Norman areas of NC. There comes a time in everyone’s life when you have to say goodbye to your loving pet. It can be absolutely heart wrenching to let go of something that has been hopelessly devoted to you and your family through its entire life. Most of us have been through this with our pets, maybe even several times throughout our lives, and it never gets any easier. The decisions can be difficult trying to determine; are they really suffering? Can I still see a glimpse of that spirit through the cataract in their eyes?

I feel the urge to inform you why it has been silent for a few days here at Dog Food Blog. I have been busy with dog food but it doesn’t show in the online world (yet)
This brings back childhood memories! They have remade the cartoon Underdog into a movie. This is what the email had to say about the film, and here is a sneak peek as well!
“There’s no need to fear. Underdog is here!†The superhero canine with a gift for rhyme returns in an all new live-action re-imagination of the classic cartoon, UNDERDOG.
After an accident in the mysterious lab of maniacal scientist Dr. Simon Barsinister (PETER DINKLAGE), an ordinary beagle unexpectedly finds himself with unimaginable powers and the ability to speak. Armed with a fetching superhero costume, UNDERDOG (voiced by comedian JASON LEE) vows to protect the beleaguered citizens of Capitol City and, in particular, one beautiful spaniel named Polly Purebread (voiced by Academy Award® nominee AMY ADAMS). When a sinister plot by Barsinister and his overgrown henchman Cad (PATRICK WARBURTON) threatens to destroy Capitol City only UNDERDOG can save the day.
