I am sitting at the airport, just waiting for my flight home on the way back from the Cleveland Pet Expo in Cleveland Ohio.

The Expo was great and I came out to support our Cleveland branch of Sit Means Sit Dog Training.

There were all kinds of vendors here, showing off every conceivable type of thing that is remotely related to anything having to do with dogs.

I did 2 shows both days on the main stage, and had a great time showing my young dog ‘Rex’ (17 months old) doing a variety of training things, and having the crowd come up and get involved as well.

Besides the show, they had a group there called ‘Ultimate Air Dogs’, who I had never heard of before that also does dock diving, so I had to get out there in between shows and give this a try. It was a lot of fun.

Rex only had time to compete in 2 of the events, the ‘Extreme Verticle’…..something he was already familiar with, and he actually came in at 6 feet 6 inches, and climbed his way all the way to the top and winning the competition with a jump of 7 feet 6 inches! That height actually tied the world indoor EV record for a jump held indoors. It is harder for the dogs to jump indoors because of the ceilings and enclosure. He also did not miss a single jump all the way to 7-6!! Was very proud of him.

They also had a competition called ‘Fetch-It’, in which he tried for the very first time. None of the other organizations have this event.

There previous record was 19 feet in this, and Rex, along with three other dogs actually accomplished this on this day. Rex was the only one to do 20 feet, and set the record there as well. This is a new event in this sport, so I’m sure in time this record will get higher.

In any case, it was a great and tiring day for Rex!
