Spring is definitely here! And it’s pretty easily recognized after only a few minutes at our dog training facility. First of all, the grass is green and all of the wild dogwoods are in full bloom. The training staff are sporting t-shirts and sunscreen. And if that’s not a hint that spring has sprung the lambs definitely give it away. That’s right, I said lambs.

As some of you know, we keep a flock of sheep and other stock at our facility for herding dog training. The sheep are a lot of work to maintain throughout the year, but it’s all well worth it at this time of year!

Have Ewe Herd? -Lambs and Herding Dogs

With the onset of nice weather, we have received a lot of calls and interest about our herding training and unfortunately, due to all the lambing, our herding dog training must be postponed for several weeks. We wouldn’t want to upset the baby sheep! However, we will resume our training and free herding dog evaluations around the middle of May. We offer herding dog training for dog owners who would like to provide their dog with challenging work as well as those who would like to preserve the herding instincts of their breed of choice. We also offer our herding training for owners who want to have fun with their dogs and give them some healthy exercise to build both speed and endurance. We also train dogs for herding cattle and other livestock as well as geese management dogs.

Our facility is convenient to Statesville, Mooresville, Hickory, Lake Norman and Charlotte, NC. We teach herding to all pastoral breeds including: Border Collies, Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Australian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois and Belgian Tervurens. We also offer training for owners of other non-typical breeds. Herding training is available to any owner with any breed of dog and herding evaluations are offered for free at our location in Harmony, NC. If you happen to have a pastoral breed that has been cooped up all winter and seems to be herding the family by nipping at their heels and legs and getting into other mischief around the house, give us a call today!

If you are interested in herding training or would like to schedule a herding evaluation for your dog, please call 704.728.9494 or email us!
