This is a description of a wonderful summer camp hosted by the Kentucky Humane Society that I learned about by reading an article in The Courier-Journal out of Louisville, KY, and that my ever-vigilant friend Ann, author of A Nice Place in the Sun recommended:
Unlike any other children’s camp in the area, the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) is happy to be hosting its 20th year of summer camps for young people! The ever-popular Animal Adventure Camp for children age 6-13 is offered weekly June through August. It’s a great opportunity for children to share their hearts with animals and learn at the same time! Join us in the fun!

This week, May 4-10 is the American Humane Association’s Be Kind to Animals Week! The group created this celebratory week in 1915 to celebrate the unique bond between humans and animals.
Though we all love our fur-babies, there are some special things we can do this week to work towards a better future for all animals, everywhere.
So how can you be kind to animals this week? The AHA recommends the following:
Speak out for animals. Get active in local animal welfare policies and legislation.

This is really good news. Providing informative guidelines will create the awareness and these guidelines are aimed to educate owners of pet animals on the need to preserve public health. Pet owners will get their animals vaccinated against common infections and contagious diseases. As a standard protocol, pet owners should control dogs on a leash together with the registration tags, and maintain a vaccination records in cases if pet be taken to the vet when they show abnormal illness signs.
