Misunderstanding of any training tool, and improper application would lead to things going sour no matter what the tool is. This is the same reason that a scalpel in the hands of a skilled physician, can save the life of many human beings, but doctors with less knowledge and experience, may not be able to save some of these lives. In either case, it’s not the tool at fault.
I always get a kick out of some wacky person taking a collar and putting it on their neck, and making the analogies of dogs and humans being the same.
