According to API, the FDA is investigating a Texas laboratory’s finding of acetaminophen in dog and cat food. Horrifyingly, this is the fifth contaminant found in pet foods during the past 2 1/2 months. Acetaminophen can be toxic or lethal to pets. At least five dog and cat food samples submitted by worried pet owners and pet food manufacturers contained varying levels of the pain reliever.

This was in the newspaper today!!! Eight in One Inc., a division of United Pet Group Inc., is recalling all packages of Dingo Chick’N Jerky, Dingo Kitty Chicken Jerky and Dingo Ferret Chicken Jerky. The treats are currently sold around the nation at Target, PetSmart and other stores. These pet foods might be contaminated with salmonella. This announcement is completely unrelated to the vast recall of melamine-tainted dog and cat food that led to kidney failure in many pets around the country. To obtain a refund, consumers can simply call 888-232-9889.
